Position Purpose: Under moderate supervision, conducts moderately complex technical software testing and analyses. Typically assigned to medium sized projects or a phase within a larger project across 1-2 applications.

About you:

  • Education Level: 4-Year Bachelor’s Degree

  • Years of experience: 3+

  • Advance English language skills and comprehension (B2+ or C1)

  • Knowledge of test case management tools

  • Experience with querying NoSQL (MongoDB) database

  • Able to create test scripts for microservices (API endpoints) using Postman

  • Capable of testing as a customer and predict their interactions on the website

  • Excellent Analytical skills

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Ability to work independently

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Cypress, JavaScript and Jira/Zephyr

About the role:

  • Develops technical test plans. The scope of the test plan and all subsequent testing activities may include, depending on the project, performance testing, security testing, white box testing of backend application or web services

  • Gathers system requirements from business analysts and tech leads and provides feedback on quality requirements

  • Translates business requirements into test cases

  • Uses a variety of software tools to create automated test scripts

  • Develops moderately complex manual test scripts, where automation is not possible

  • Prepares and manages test data using SQL

  • Works with developers to estimate development efforts, inclusive of QA work

  • Executes tests according to established scripts and provides QA signoff on simple parts of an application

  • Documents test results

  • Revises test scripts to reflect results and to correct errors/omissions

  • Research test results to determine causes of bugs

  • Tracks bugs and provides feedback to project team; retests resolved bugs, updates ticket resolution and closes ticket

  • Periodically reviews all outstanding bugs

  • Supports testing process

  • Adheres to project timelines

  • Identifies opportunities to enhance the efficiency of the testing processes

  • Acts as an informational resource to developers as they troubleshoot technical issues

  • Works independently and collaboratively with team; provides regular updates to leader

  • Mentors Associate Software QA Engineer

  • Participates of nightly and off-hours release in an on-call fashion
