Work Location: Boston, MA, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)

Hybrid Schedule: Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, allowing for in-office 3 days minimum and remote 2 days. Any changes to this working model will be communicated accordingly.

What you will be doing:

We are seeking a visionary and entrepreneurial-minded Innovation VP to lead our Beauty brands into the future. This role requires a hardworking individual with a growth mindset who thrives in a collaborative environment and possesses a challenger attitude. The ideal candidate will drive innovation across products, business models, and channels, ensuring our brands remain at the forefront of the industry.

  • Develop and implement a strategic innovation roadmap that aligns with the company's long-term goals and drives market leadership.

  • Lead cross-functional Agile Pod teams (e.g. brand, innovation, consumer insights) to bring new products, business models, and channels to market.

  • Champion innovative thinking and agile methodologies to cultivate a culture of innovation.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of consumer needs, both rational and emotional, to drive innovation that resonates with our target audience.

  • Collaborate with consumer insights to develop products that meet and exceed consumer expectations.

  • Conduct ongoing analysis of industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to find opportunities for differentiation.

  • Lead all aspects of the development and management of innovation within the brand architecture and portfolio strategies to ensure cohesive and aligned brand growth.

  • Identify, size and prioritize white space opportunities and growth drivers through strategic and commercial analysis.

  • Build and manage a funnel of future-proof innovation ideas grounded in deep consumer and category insights.

  • Develop and implement innovation roadmaps that drive long-term product development and market leadership.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of in-market experiments to test, learn, and iterate solutions.

  • Manage resources, timelines, and budgets to deliver projects that meet commercial targets and innovation thresholds.

  • Work closely with product development, marketing, consumer insights, finance, and other departments to ensure flawless integration of new innovations.

  • Facilitate internal idea generation sessions to develop new product concepts and maintain a continuous flow of insights.

  • Collaborate with global and local teams to deliver scalable, winning innovations that drive revenue and market share.

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of innovation projects, from ideation to launch, ensuring timely and successful execution.

  • Define and implement launch plans in coordination with brand teams and evaluate post-launch performance.

  • Ensure visibility of spend against significant initiatives and trade-offs, valuing projects for financial scale, accuracy, and probability of success.

  • Build and mentor a high-performing innovation team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Encourage a risk-taking attitude and support the team in navigating ambiguity and uncertainty.

  • Lead initiatives to incorporate sustainable practices and materials into the innovation process.

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Proven track record of developing and launching successful innovations.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and drive cross-functional teams.

  • Highly analytical with strong conceptual skills and the ability to translate market trends and consumer insights into innovative solutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence partners at all levels.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a strong bias for action and a high degree of personal accountability.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment, with a focus on growth and continuous improvement.

  • Passion for beauty and wellness, deep understanding of market trends and consumer behavior.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 10+ years of experience in innovation, product development, or a related field within the beauty and wellness industry.

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree
