What will you do?

A day in the life of a [Associate Creative Director] at Vans looks a little like this.

As the Associate Creative Director, Vans Americas you will be responsible for overseeing a number of simultaneous projects and teams, within which they will be developing the design direction, ensuring efficient internal and external communication, making stylistic decisions, and reviewing and providing feedback as well as getting your hands dirty throughout the project. You will work alongside the creative director across multiple projects in marketing, artistic direction, concept development and creation.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Oversee multiple categories and develop an ongoing, multi season campaign, informed by consumer and market insights that pushes the boundaries of what it means to be off the wall

  • Works with Integrated team to develop creative concepts and executions of category creative for multiple channel and consumer touchpoints, and experiences inclusive of digital, retail, and events, while partnering cross functionally in reviewing and developing creative to ensure the work is on brief.

  • Oversees photo and video shoots, both on location and in studio, including prep, styling, and editing, as well as graphic development of the campaign creative.

  • Provides support in presentation of campaign concept and execution and helping to drive stakeholder alignment.

  • Mentors and guides creative staff to ensure the work is on brand and creatively progressive.

  • Remains current on industry trends, technology, and best practices.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 6+ years of experience and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • A design, art, background, and 6+ years of design experience in an agency setting or design department is required. 3-4 years of supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

  • Exceptional working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, experience with product photography and art direction, and a deep knowledge of graphic design and typography, and current design trends.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and ability to manage and direct a diverse team of creatives

  • Strong people leadership skills and collaborative mindset showcasing a high aptitude for agility and positive change. Your diverse experiences and positivity enable you to provide a unique perspective to fuel our global growth and lead with purpose and empathy. You are inclusive and value differing points of view. You hire, develop and support a team that reflects our global consumer base.

  • Experience working for or being in-house at a major brand.

  • Location requirement: The ideal candidate will reside within the greater Los Angeles region.

Hiring Range:

$127,008.00 USD - $158,760.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
