SUMMARY
Receives cash from customers in payment for goods, stocks merchandise, and engages with people throughout the industrial establishment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Upbeat and friendly attitude to enhance the guests’ experience. Speak with, engage and interact directly with guests.
Performs various duties in the retail store as needed, including cashiering, staging the banquet & events area, stocking and tour responsibilities.
Performs various duties of Cafe Host/Hostess as needed.
Performs various duties in the museum as needed.
Operates cash register, weighs bulk items, compiles printed list, and displays cost of customer purchase and tax on monitor screen.
Makes change, cashes checks, and issues receipts to customers.
Reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand.
Quotes price and describes features of items for which money is received.
Stocks shelves, marks price on items, and keeps area neat and clean.
Receives and processes telephone orders and requests for broker samples, including preparation of orders and samples for shipment.
Takes inventory or examines merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
Receives, opens, and unpacks cartons or crates of merchandise, checking invoice against items received.
Describes various processes and operation of machines to guests.
Describes features of interest concerning production processes, history of organization, and factory layout.
Operates and explains the interactive tour exhibits to guests. Interacts and engages with tour guests.
Learns the factory tour script with the ability to give a guided and floor tour
Assumes responsibility for safety of guests by calling on the phone for help if a guest is injured or in distress and/or evacuating all guests from the tour lane in the chance of an emergency.
Maintains courteous and professional demeanor when dealing with customers and ensures customers receive high quality service.
Turns on/off factory tour monitors, greets tour guests and turns on the welcome video.
Has the ability to drive the train and ensure the safety of all guests riding on the train.
Inherent in each position is a general duty to maintain each respective work area in a safe and sanitary condition. The employee may be required to perform other such duties within the scope of their employment as may be assigned. The employee must also possess the ability to take direction, follow instructions, work with others, follow work rules and schedules, and focus on details.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
