Basic Purpose: The Sales Manager is responsible for driving hotel revenue for their assigned market segment, focusing on maximizing occupancy rates, revenue per available room (RevPAR), and driving overall profitability through effective sales and marketing efforts.
Essential Functions:
Sales Strategy Development:
- Formulate and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and guest data to inform sales tactics.
Team Leadership:
- Foster a high-performance, collaboration, and customer service excellence culture.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with key accounts.
- Negotiate clients' contracts, rates, and terms to maximize revenue while maintaining profitability.
- Ensure client satisfaction through personalized service and follow-up.
Business Development:
- Identify new business opportunities for the assigned market segment(s).
- Attend industry events and networking functions as assigned and approved by the Director of Sales & Marketing to promote the hotel and establish new contacts.
- Conducted site inspections and entertained qualified potential clients per company policies.
- Maintain minimum weekly sales activity as directed by the Director of Sales.
Performance Analysis:
- Regularly review sales performance metrics (e.g., occupancy rates, ADR, RevPAR) and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Use CRM systems and analytics tools to track sales activities and outcomes.
- Prepare reports and presentations on sales performance/activities and market conditions as requested by the Director of Sales and Marketing and/or General Manager.
Innovation and Improvement:
- Continuously seek ways to improve sales processes, customer engagement, and service delivery.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technology, and best practices in hospitality sales.
Compliance and Policies:
- Ensure all sales practices comply with hotel policies, legal standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Stay informed about travel industry regulations that could impact sales strategies.
