NBS Theatre Westport are seeking a Theatre Technician & Theatre Assistant to provide a consistent, professional level of technical expertise to ensure our communities are offered a wide range of public events and shows. Working primarily at the NBS Theatre but also as required at the Reefton Cinema, the successful candidate will need to have the ability to work a variety of rostered shifts between the hours of 7.30am - 10.30pm
over a 7 day period, dependant on events and hires.
What will you do?
The successful candidate will hold responsibility for a variety of important duties including, but not limited to:
• Front of House Operations for cinema including ticket sales and general enquiries.
• Lead Technician/back of House for live events; with a focus on lighting and sound for shows, meetings and performances at either the NBS
Theatre or Reefton Cinema.
• Day to day administration including liaising with show promoters.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons at all times.
Who are you?
• You will possess confidence and the relevant experience and skills or demonstrate a strong willingness to learn all lighting and sound
technician aspects.
• With the ability to work equally effectively as a participating team member or individually, you will have excellent communication skills, both
written and verbal.
• You will have experience in customer service, with a commitment to working towards positive outcomes with each interaction.
• Calm under pressure, you will have great time management skills with proven ability to prioritise workloads.
• You will have experience and a good awareness of health and safety practices.
Additionally, you should be comfortable working at heights
• Experience working in the events industry and with Digital Cinema equipment highly desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
