Sr. Manager, Packaging Engineer

Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried (Exempt)

Job Location: Kodiak HQ: Park City, Utah 

What will this position do?   

• Develop and validate packaging systems to support new products and productivity opportunities
• Maintaining proper packaging documentation in SpecRight system
• Provides technical and business expertise on manufacturing systems, technologies, products and materials
• Provide technical leadership in capital projects and new product packaging material testing, start up and production
• Develop Sustainability and Packaging solutions that deliver value to the business and support sustainability strategy
• Ability to operate lab and pilot scale equipment/instrumentation and periodically work in a manufacturing plant
• Perform financial validations and justifications for projects
• Work collaboratively with procurement, operations, brand, graphics and external partners to understand product performance, requirements and specifications
• Develop relationships with project teams to gain alignment on scope and ensure projects are completed in agreed upon timelines
• Travel up to 25%
• Performs other related duties as assigned

What are we looking for? 

• BS in packaging engineering, engineering, science or relevant technical degree
• 7+ years of packaging development and project management experience
• Technical knowledge of packaging materials and recyclability
• Ability to manage direct report(s).
• Ability to identify potential packaging quality opportunities
• Excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills
• Effective communication skills with internal teams and external partner
