WSP is currently initiating a search for a Sr. Consultant, Environmental Scientist in our Ft. Myers/Naples, FL will also be considered. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

Are you an environmental scientist with 5-7 years’ experience who enjoys a mix of field, office, and business development work?  Are you looking to work with a worldwide company with an established team of professionals?  WSP USA Environment and Infrastructure is seeking a lead scientist to work with our water resources team in Florida.  We have an excellent career opportunity for an individual with strong technical scientific skills and an understanding of Florida’s water and ecological resources.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Scientist with 5-7 years’ experience


• Minimum Degree in environmental or soil and water sciences


• Proven capabilities understanding and following FDEP SOPs, using field monitoring equipment (e.g., multimeters) and collecting water quality samples for a wide range of analyses (FDEP Water Quality Monitoring Certificate preferred)


• Knowledge in water resources, watershed restoration, statistics, biogeochemistry, permitting and water quality


• Knowledge in wetland mitigation, environmental restoration and stormwater projects


• Proficiency with wetland delineation, habitat assessment, wetland restoration and stream design a plus


• Coastal experience a plus


• Proficiency in using ArcGIS a plus


• Proficiency in environmental data evaluation and statistics


• Proficiency in understanding the market and business development


• Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to prepare reports and proposals


• Work with Clients and Manage Projects


• Attention to detail


• MUST work well both independently and in a team environment


• Must be able to travel throughout Florida and out of area when necessary


• The position is located in Ft. Myers/Naples FL


• Must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with WSP’s driving (MVR) policy.
