Responsible for patrolling ski trails and slope areas to provide assistance and protection to skiers and report condition of trails, ski lifts, and snow cover on slopes.
- Patrols assigned areas, using skis or snowmobile.
- Rescues injured skiers and renders first aid or transfers them to waiting ambulance, using toboggan.
- Notifies medical personnel in case of serious injury where moving skier might prove dangerous.
- Ensures that no skiers remain on slopes or trails at end of day or during inclement weather.
- Inspects ski lifts, for example rope tows, J-bar, and chair lifts, to report safety hazards and evidence of damage or wear.
- Complete Incident Reports in a timely manner and review for completeness and thoroughness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent skiing technical skills (most jobs are performed on skis and ski boots).
- Current certification or ability to obtain CPR certification prior to season starting. We can help you identify training opportunities prior to season starting.
- Good basic reading and writing skills.
- Capable of skiing all terrain in all conditions.
- The ability to handle customer complaints and to interact with guests and staff in a respectful manner.
- Must be comfortable completing work in potentially stressful conditions outdoors in any weather.
- Must be able to work nights, holidays and weekends.
