Job Summary

To provide a safe skiing and riding mountain resort environment through continuous education, visible resort presence and positive reinforcement while offering unprecedented quality of patient care and response when necessary. You must know and understand Skibowl’s Code of Conduct, Enforcement Policy, the Skier Responsibility Code, and the Patrol Department’s Policies, Procedures, and Plans.

 

Essential Functions

  • Interactive participation, communication and execution of our safety policies, procedures, and plans.
  • Routine trail inspection & maintenance, hazard identification, marking and padding.
  • Resort emergency medical care, response, transportation, and documentation for the sick or injured.
  • Functions and duties as outlined by the Skibowl Professional Ski Patrol Manual and as requested by supervisor, manager, or director.
  • Mentoring of Patrol Candidates, Patroller I’s and related training responsibilities (patient care, annual refresher, sled & toboggan, AED, lift evacuation, etc.)
  • Outstanding customer service and interaction with guests to deliver a high-quality mountain resort experience.
  • Able to participate, assist, and lead all lift evacuation and MCI procedures.
  • Able to participate, assist, and lead all avalanche control and rescue procedures.
  • Adhere to all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Safety & Health Guide.
  • Display excellent people skills and ability to make rational decisions under pressure and during emergency situations.
  • Maintain the highest safety standards and code compliance for guests and staff daily.
  • Other duties as requested by Manager, Senior Team, or VP/GM
  • Requirements

  • Must have valid CPR and OEC, EMT or higher certification.
  • Must be in very good physical condition and able to work outdoors under extreme weather conditions.
  • Must be capable of running a toboggan and participating in all aspects of lift evacuations.
  • Must be an advanced to expert skier or snowboarder and able to ski/ride any terrain under any weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Must have completed at least (2) seasons as a Patroller 1 with Skibowl.
  • Must have leadership and teaching skills.
  • Team player – be flexible and open to new ideas and changing priorities.
  • Other Skills/Abilities:

  • Help in other departments as needed.
  • Separate garbage and recyclables into appropriate bins.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Have an excellent attitude!
  • Look out for all Skibowl/H-Management/Mt. Hood Management property and assets.
  • Address any issues as they occur or inform the appropriate department manager.
  • Assist customers and provide a high level of customer service.
