ABOUT THE JOB:

As a Service Writer, you have the opportunity to inspect the highest quality of bikes across all years, makes and models. To be successful in this role you have a high level of computer skills, and technical expertise and are excited to resolve advanced issues. This role is a full time Service Writer position that focuses in our Flagship Retail Store services department: Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00a - 6:30p.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Provide customers with full Quotes in Hubtiger including parts, labor, and optional add ons within 24 hours of their appointments
    • Provide detailed notes to ensure clear communication between the customer and TPC, Services and the Sales team, and Mechanics and Services Staff
  • Work with our production team to properly schedule labor for Service tickets and provide ETAs to customers to ensure that the 48 hr Service Level Agreement is kept
  • Source parts using B2Bs and Vendors such as QBP, BTI, Specialized, Shimano, Sram etc.
  • Create Purchase Orders and receive POs using Hubtiger, Netsuite, Shopify, and internal systems
  • Track and manage inventory using Hubtiger,  Netsuite, Shopify, and internal systems
  • Follow prescribed service tickets
  • Duties include advanced technical skills of component replacement, brake bleeds, bearing installation, suspension overhauls, truing wheels, tubeless tire installation, dérailleur tuning/adjustment, and final quality control check
  • Consult with customers and make appropriate recommendations based on your comprehensive technical knowledge 
  • Drive sales by effectively uncovering the customer’s needs and presenting appropriate service offerings 
  • Daily maintenance and upkeep of standardized work station to ensure 5S standards are met
  • Based on business needs this role will require flexing into other areas of work such as production, sales, and customer service

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • 3-5 years of previous professional bike mechanic experience required
  • You have proven that you are able to manage a volume of 5+ service appointments per day, 20+ per week, and can inspect and send quotes promptly and provide sound technical advice
  • You have strong computer skills with the ability to navigate between 6+ programs at once on multiple devices
  • You have a background in Hubtiger, Netsuite, Shopify, G Suite, Spreadsheets, POS systems, QBP, BTI, and B2Bs
  • You have a past background in sourcing parts, creating purchase orders, and tracking inventory with an extremely high level of accuracy
  • You have a strong knowledge of bikes frames, wheels and components across different years, makes and models
  • You have a proven track record with being able to following Standard Operating Procedures to the utmost accuracy and working cross functionally with teams
  • You have strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Production experience preferred
  • A positive and professional attitude and a consistent work ethic, must be self-motivated and work well alone as well as on a team in a shop/warehouse and office atmosphere
  • You are comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Enthusiastic about the outdoor/cycling industry, the people it attracts, and all the gear!
  • Must be physically capable of bending, squatting, repetitive hand and wrist movements, including twisting and lifting 50 lbs. Also must have stamina to stand 8 hrs./day
