As a Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager you will work cross-functionally with WHOOP Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, Legal, Supply Chain, and Operations teams as you define and drive the regulatory compliance and certification process for electromechanical products. You will manage projects related to wireless, EMC/EMI, safety, labeling, and environmental regulatory compliance in domestic and international markets. You will influence hardware designs, partner with internal engineering resources, and work directly with global test labs and certification bodies to enable products to launch on time and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role is pivotal in unlocking access to the WHOOP product in global markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own the project management of regulatory compliance efforts. This includes developing requirements and schedules, collaborating with Hardware and Manufacturing teams, and integrating regulatory considerations early in to New Product Introduction and Continuous Improvement programs
  • Establish relationships with external certification bodies and regulatory authorities to execute on project requirements across multiple countries
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming consumer electronics regulatory requirements for countries in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of regulatory compliance processes, artifacts required for regulatory approval, and records of certifications
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Legal teams to ensure execution of regulatory requirements in regards to labeling, translation, environmental, and extended producer responsibility
  • Implement strategies to ensure compliance with global regulations that account for internal technology roadmaps and the evolving regulatory landscape


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 8+ years experience in regulatory compliance with a record of multiple submissions and approvals in international markets
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Experience working with consumer electronics both in NPI and MP/sustaining stages
  • Awareness of global regulatory requirements for consumer electronics across wireless, EMC/EMI, safety, environmental, packaging, labeling, and shipping. Willingness to learn where there might be gaps in knowledge or experience.
  • Self motivated and proactive, demonstrating creative and critical problem solving capabilities in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 15%)

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
