Position: Senior Oracle Developer

Work Locations – (The position is not remote):

Hybrid Schedule: Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, allowing 3 days minimum, and remote 2 days. Any changes to this working model will be communicated accordingly.

What You Will Be Doing:

Work with Business Analysts and Developers (onsite and offshore) to support and improve the Oracle E-Business Suite Applications. You will be required to learn our business processes and procedures, participate in meetings with business partners globally, attend design and technical meetings, perform proof of concept testing as needed, and be fully involved in all aspects of delivering solutions to the business.

The Sr. Oracle Developer will test various applications, troubleshoot issues, and work with the team to deploy technical components into production.

  • Use current Helen of Troy change control standards and SDLC to successfully implement solutions.

  • Complete development tasks assigned while adhering to Helen of Troy development standards.

  • Develop fast, efficient, and self-recovering integrations with Oracle EBS.

  • Ensure extensions and customizations meet user requirements and enable the business to resolve issues efficiently.

  • Communicate effectively (both written and oral) with functional business analysts to develop solutions that meet user requirements and specifications.

  • Work collaboratively as a team player while maintaining focus on specific assigned tasks.

  • Analyze facts to determine actions based on standard practices and procedures.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

  • Implement fixes based on root cause analysis.

  • Attend meetings as requested by project managers and functional business analysts.

  • Ensure the timely completion of assigned project plan tasks.

  • Design, build, develop, modify, and implement technical solutions.

  • Develop specifications for multiple large, interrelated projects and oversee their implementation.

  • Interact directly with users to resolve application issues.

  • Provide technical expertise within the team and to external project teams as needed.

  • Clearly communicate work details and relevant technical matters, both in writing and verbally.

  • Lead projects of moderate scope or phases of larger projects and collaborate with other project team members.

  • Manage operational and/or maintenance activities for assigned projects.

  • Perform all duties in accordance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and best practices.

  • Contribute effectively within a diverse workforce and uphold Helen of Troy's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Take ownership of and resolve tickets within SLA timelines.

Skills Needed to Be Successful in This Role:

  • Experience with change management and configuration management.

  • Strong knowledge of methods and procedures for computer software design, development, and maintenance.

  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail, self-motivated, and deadline-driven.

  • Capable of working effectively as an individual and as part of a project team.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain system documentation.

  • Project management experience, including presenting and collaborating with other teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.

  • 5+ years of experience implementing, upgrading, and supporting Oracle Applications R12.1.3 or higher, specifically in OM, WMS, INV, PO, ASCP, GL, AP, AR, and FA modules.

  • 5+ years of experience with relational databases using SQL/PLSQL.

  • Proficiency in Oracle Applications EBS R12, SQL, PL/SQL, XML/BI, Oracle Reports, Oracle Forms, Oracle Workflow, and Oracle Alerts.

  • Strong hands-on programming/scripting skills in SQL, PL/SQL, OAF, and Shell Scripting.

  • Solid understanding of XML, XSLT, and JSON data formats.

  • Experience with analysis, setup, configuration, conversion, testing, migration, and documentation.

  • Familiarity with various upstream and downstream systems.

  • Experience integrating third-party applications with Oracle E-Business Suite.

  • Ability to write complex SQL queries for data mining, reporting, and analysis.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and debugging skills.

  • Experience following both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Java and JSP.

  • Linux scripting experience.

  • Familiarity with OAF (Oracle Application Framework).
