Summary/Objective

The Senior Manager of Global E-Commerce plays a pivotal role in leading and executing Ruffwear’s global online sales strategies and ownership of the consumer experience.. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, optimizing the site experience, building and growing a sound customer retention model, and curating a regionally focused, premium content journey across the global websites. . This position reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and works collaboratively across the organization, including the Brand Marketing, Creative, IT, Sales, Operations, and Product teams. This position requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, e-commerce site expertise, and leadership skills to navigate the complexities of global online retail.


Position Requirements

  • Responsible for developing and executing comprehensive global e-commerce strategies aligned with revenue, margin, and brand goals.
  • Hire, manage, and mentor a team of E-Commerce professionals to execute digital marketing campaigns, e-commerce strategies, and online advertising. 
  • Define and implement strategies for user acquisition, retention, and conversion optimization across all Ruffwear.com sites to increase time on site, LTV, improve conversions per user/session, and promote customer loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Oversee management and optimization of Ruffwear.com to ensure user-friendly navigation, strong conversion rates, decreased bounce rates, seamless customer experience, in collaboration with UX/UI teams, IT, and third-party vendors to implement site enhancements and updates.
  • Partner with Brand Marketing and Performance Marketing to align on content strategies for e-commerce initiatives and ensure SEO, affiliates, and email/SMS marketing follow brand performance goals.
  • Manage Email and SMS marketing efforts including consumer segmentation, automation, and strategies to align with revenue targets.
  • Develop and implement e-commerce merchandising strategies that drive product visibility and sales.
  • Create forecasts and collaborate with the Supply Chain and international distributors to ensure adequate stock levels and optimize inventory turnover to meet forecasted sales targets.
  • Lead efforts to enhance the online customer experience through personalization, customer service improvements, regionalization, and seamless checkout processes.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure e-commerce performance, analyze trends, and generate regular reports and forecasts for CMO and Marketing team leaders.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting (Ruffwear office or home office as necessary).

Required Education and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in e-commerce marketing, with a focus on global strategy and online sales growth.
  • 3+ years of experience hiring, managing, and mentoring team members.
  • Performance marketing experience is preferred
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing distributed, international teams.
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify or Salesforce), digital marketing channels, and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMRush, Klaviyo, Attentive).
  • Experience in optimizing UX/UI for e-commerce websites and familiarity with A/B testing methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Drive for innovation and continuous improvement to stay ahead of industry trends in e-commerce and digital marketing.
  • Passion for dogs and first-hand understanding of the interactive bond between canines and humans.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Expertise in international e-commerce regulations, logistics, and payment gateways.
  • Experience in the outdoor, apparel, and/or consumer products industry.
  • Passion for the outdoors.

Compensation In the spirit of pay transparency, we're excited to share the expected base salary for this role is currently $125,000 (exclusive of fringe benefits & potential bonuses). If you are hired at Ruffwear, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as workplace location, job-related skills and competencies, experience, as well as education and training. In addition to those factors, Ruffwear also considers internal equity of current Pack members as part of any final offer.

Total cash compensation is contingent on targeted company performance achievement and individual attainment of performance goals. Therefore, target total cash is not guaranteed and may vary annually.
