Summary of Position
Manages the Returns & CCPD / NPD product testing team in order to analyze defective product along with CCPD / NPD products and effectively report product/user experience failure or trends to engineering and the category teams. Drive the team to drill down to the root cause of the failure in order to provide the reason for the failure and possible solutions for improvement. This position is primarily responsible for managing the Returns & CCPD / NPD product testing team to aggressively attack our product returns by providing accurate return analysis trends, listening to key customer insights, and driving improvements through engineering and the category teams. This position is also responsible for product performance validation from customer insights teams feedback during the new product development process.
Responsibilities
· Leads and manages the Returns & CCPD / NPD product testing team to improve our testing process, data collection, and customer insights in order to provide root-cause analysis reports for the Categories and Engineering. This data will be used to enhance the customer experience, product quality, and to achieve operational plan metrics.
· One on one’s with the Returns & CCPD / NPD product testing team to understand concerns and morale with an emphasis on creating a team and safe working environment.
· Coordinates all rework and VAS projects in order to meet the Category’s expectation and delivery schedule
· Organizes and presents quarterly return analysis data to Engineering and the Category teams through the Product Improvement meetings bi-monthly.
· Manages multiple NPD test and validation projects, tracking and reporting project status by appropriate methods with a goal to ensure key issues are reported, with the goal of meeting the customer expectations.
· Manage and oversee the CF-3000 / CF-4000 repair process, along with supporting any dealer / installer tools used by the IFB network.
· Manage the team that provides field technical support for Invisible Fence dealers and installer network through the tech line and on sight training.
Qualifications:
· Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Strong leadership, project management, problem-solving, data collection, and return analysis skills. A solid strategic thinker that can motivate a team to execute a plan.
· Possesses both the ability to work independently and work with cross-functional teams to accomplish tasks within timelines and budget.
· Received 4 -year Bachelor degree from an accredited institution or relative work experience preferably with an emphasis on quality improvements / project management / test and manufacturing.
· Minimum of 8 years of product testing, manufacturing, or sustaining engineering experience required.
· Has excellent computer skills including knowledge of common Office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
· Must be willing and able to travel domestically.
Accountabilities:
· Operating Plan targets as established by the Director of Quality.
· Assignment and follow through for a departmental Critical Few that supports RSC’s strategy for quality, growth, and innovation.
· Spending authority as approved in the annual budget while coordinating with the Project Management team.
Relationships
· Reports directly to the Director of Quality
· Leads and supervises repair technicians, returns testing along with the IFB service support team.
· Maintains an effective working relationship with all Brand team members and with all members of support departments critical to CCPD / NPD testing and development.
· Maintains an effective working relationship with Senior Management, Product Suppliers, Contract Manufactures, and Contract consultants.
