What you will be doing:

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities with a variety of small personal diagnostic devices, practices, and procedures. Expertise in program managing multiple projects on a global basis and have a solid understanding of FDA, ISO 13485, process validation, design history files, and international regulatory specifications and requirements.

  • Take a supporting/lead role in planning, scheduling, and implementing New Product Development (NPD) projects in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.

  • Work closely with global multi-functional teams in US, Europe, and China. Communicate to teams effectively on program progress, risks, schedule, costs, quality, and performance.

  • Responsible for technical feasibility assessment, program budget, program schedule, and supplier communication, program start to product launch.

  • Manage/build product documentation and specifications to support timely execution.

  • Provide mentorship for technical solutions and alternatives as needed and conduct design reviews, FMEA’s (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), and risk assessments.

  • Build and maintain accessible project files and appropriate documentation based on established regulatory (Design History File) and quality systems.

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Proven track record in project management, demonstrating strong organizational skills. Attention to details.

  • Possess proactive demeanor and provide leadership, project management and teamwork skills to get along with a cross-functional distributed team and advise them in achieving assigned goals and objectives.

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and remain flexible and adaptable.

  • Demonstrated delivery of projects within budget and schedule constraints in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple global vendors and coordinate submittals, track vendor commitments on a schedule, and oversight of delivering quality products on schedule and within budget.

  • Strong communication skills including ability to provide concise and accurate status of projects on a weekly basis

  • Good technical knowledge of electronics, firmware and software as used in consumer products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 2+ years’ experience working in the consumer goods, medical, or any equivalent regulated industry.

  • Working knowledge of FDA, ISO, UL, and Design History Files.

  • Working knowledge of IEC 62304.

  • Basic knowledge of CAD.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.

  • Understanding of safety requirements and medical device regulatory submission in Europe (MDD/MDR) and USA (FDA) is a strong asset.

  • Demonstrated solving ability to identify issues, assess technical and project alternatives and risks, and implement solutions while keeping the projects on track.

  • Demonstrated abilities with small devices' design, manufacturing and other practices including plastic design, molding, and electrical/medical devices.

  • Some travel is required.

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Use Helen of Troy Home & Health New Product Development process to effectively drive program progress and manage risk. Familiarity with Agile process.
