Position Overview:

 

The Product Manager – Mobile Cooling is responsible for execution of the Global and Regional product strategy focused on Dometic-branded electric / powered coolers and passive hardside coolers. This role is responsible for creating concepts and products to meet the needs of our core consumers and deliver the financial targets of the group. This individual has an entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to focus on execution, and thrives in an environment that is fast paced and demands knowledge of all parts of the business. This role is perfect for the outdoors enthusiast - someone who is passionate about the outdoor industry, products, and users. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Product Management, Mobile Cooling. 

 

Duties:

  • Develop product strategy, product roadmap, and innovation management including alignment between the Mobile Cooling and Global Segments
  • Conduct market, industry, and consumer research to identify Mobile Cooling business and market insights/opportunities as well as demographics and trends; develop the strategy for business growth
  • Prepare, coordinate and implement product strategy, product introduction and positioning as part of a comprehensive product launch plan and Go-To-Market strategy
  • Assist in the creation of short, medium, and long-term assortment plans for Mobile Cooling products that support the overall business strategy
  • Partner with Marketing to identify and ensure key features and benefits for each product are accurately portrayed
  • Identify product claims, ensure they are included in engineering processes and requirements for testing and substantiation for advertised product claims and comparisons to competition
  • Collaborate, communicate, and coordinate cross functionally with Marketing, Engineering, Project Management, Sales, Factory, Legal, and Product Development
  • Present new product ideas and concepts to upper management using strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Be trusted liaison with Sales as it relates to products, strategy, and new product plans; prepare training for sales team regarding products, argumentation points, and other relevant sales information
  • Monitor competition, market trends, and prepare ideas for future product launches
  • Support sales & marketing activities to ensure revenue, profit, and inventory targets are met monthly
  • Review demand & supply trend to identify business issues & risks, and escalate as needed for fast problem solving
  • Attend tradeshows, customer meetings and other related events to obtain customer and consumer feedback
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:          

  • Experience in consumer electronics, power tools, coolers, outdoor, camping, hardgoods, CPG, etc. industries strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop business plans and take full responsibility for success of assigned projects – from inception to completion.
  • Ability to work in matrixed global organization with teammates in multiple time zones.
  • Possess passion and enthusiasm for improving the outdoor mobile cooling arena
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally as well as be independently motivated and driven with minimal supervision
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 30%

The starting base pay for this role is between $110,000 and $120,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, location, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
