Position: Outdoor Instructor, Asia-Pacific and Global Regions

Location: (1) Asia-Pacific  - You Must be legally authorized to work in either Canada or the European Union for all global program locations. 

Job Type: Seasonal - Fall (Aug-Dec), Spring (Jan-Apr), Summer (May-Jul)

Salary Range: THB 1,750 - 3,000 per day, dependent on the level of expertise​​

Key Accountabilities in this role:

• Guiding Immersive Outdoor Learning Moments:
  
  
  
  • Deliver impactful outdoor programs that challenge and inspire young people, fostering personal growth and teamwork.
  
  
  • Guide participants through reflective debriefs after activities, focusing on learning outcomes, overcoming challenges, and applying learnings to real-world scenarios.
  
  
  • Collaborate closely with the team in the field to create impactful activities tailored to specific locations and programs objectives.
  
  
  
  


• Building Cultural Bridges Through Nature:
  
  
  
  • Design and lead activities that encourage interaction and learning between youth and local communities through outdoor exploration or environmental projects.
  
  
  • Integrate outdoor activities with relevant cultural and ecological knowledge.
  
  
  • Create lasting bridges between young people and communities through structured outdoor interactions. 
  
  
  
  


• Continuous Curriculum Enhancement:
  
  
  
  • Share valuable insights and feedback based on your outdoor expertise to constantly improve the program's effectiveness and impact.
  
  
  • Actively participate in reviewing and developing JUMP!'s outdoor curriculum and methodologies while in the field, ensuring they remain relevant, engaging, and adhere to safety best practices.
  
  
  
  


• Upholding the Highest Standards of Child Safety + Risk Mitigation:
  
  
  
  • Ensure compliance with risk mitigation standard operating procedures and protocol by remaining vigilant of any hazards during all planned outdoor activities.
  
  
  • Uphold child protection policies, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all participants in the outdoors.
  
  
  • Respond effectively to any safety concerns or incidents that may occur during outdoor programs, prioritizing well-being and implementing JUMP! emergency protocols.
  
  
  
  


• Enhancing JUMP!'s Mission Through Outdoor Expertise:
  
  
  
  • Share compelling stories and insights about the impact of outdoor experiences on youth development through JUMP!'s communication channels like blogs and social media.
  
  
  • Actively pursue professional development opportunities provided by JUMP! Foundation to stay current on best practices and expand your skill set in outdoor education.
  
  
  
  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: 

• First Aid Certification Required: 
  
  
  
  • Minimum of a WFA (Wilderness First Aid) 
  
  
  • WAFA (Wilderness Adventure First Aid) or WFR (Wilderness First Responder) preferred 
  
  
  
  


• Strong Swimming ability OR comfort in water environments is essential to the role. 


• Experience in Outdoor education or leadership: 
  
  
  
  • Comfort with leading outdoor expeditions or technical activities 
  
  
  • Knowledge of how to lead cultural immersion programs for youth 
  
  
  
  


• Experiential Learning Champion with a deep understanding and commitment to experiential education principles and models of learning. 


• Ability to navigate unexpected situations and a proactive approach to solving conflicts that arise during programs. 


• Creative and resourceful approaches to adapt to diverse outdoor environments, and flexibility for any unforeseen challenges that may arise on programs and with youth. 


• A strong desire for continuous learning and staying updated on best practices in outdoor education. 

Program Type and Design:

JUMP! offers a range of transformative programs designed to foster personal growth, leadership, and cultural understanding in students:

JUMP! Experience: Outdoor focused programming that runs on a seasonal basis, focused on immersing students in nature-based adventures to develop global perspectives and leadership skills through cultural immersion and outdoor activities. Themes include visual arts service, wildlife conservation, sustainable tourism, and social innovation.

Contract Flexibility:

We offer short-term contracts, typically ranging from 5 - 12 days per program. Depending on availability and program schedules, contractors may be offered 3-5 contracts per season. This allows for a dynamic and engaging work experience while maintaining schedule flexibility.
