What is the compensation for this role?






$18.00 per hour









What will you do in this job?






This is a remote, fly-in position located in Denali National Park. Due to this, all positions at DBL require assisting in other departments.

Safety, anticipating guest needs, honoring our surroundings and bringing your best every day are the core values we live by in order to provide dynamic guest service at the Denali Backcountry Lodge. Naturalists at the Denali Backcountry Lodge lead hikes through Kantishna, the backcountry of Denali National Park. As a Naturalist, you will conduct guest activities and provide accurate and enthusiastic interpretations of the natural and cultural history relate to Denali National Park. You will have a range of duties and responsibilities to include:

  • Provide natural and cultural history information to Lodge guests; hikes vary from casual, moderate and challenging
  • Transport guests to trailheads on private and National Park Service lands
  • Develop and present educational programs
  • Maintain fishing gear and waders and sell fishing licenses to guests








What skills and experience do you need for this job?






WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Knowledge and experience of common hiking, camping and outdoors
  • Ability to bend, lift, climb stairs and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification required
  • Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Certificate required
  • Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) preferred
