The role

Are you an accomplished professional with a passion for strategic asset management and project planning? We are seeking an experienced and visionary Manager Strategic Asset Planning and Project Management to lead and enhance our capabilities in asset management while contributing to the sustainable development of our community.

This pivotal role is responsible for driving Council-wide asset management initiatives, applying industry best practices, and strengthening our strategic direction across all asset classes. The position provides expert guidance to asset owners, ensuring the effective development, implementation, and review of asset-related policies, strategies, and plans. A critical aspect of the role involves overseeing the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring the effective use and optimisation of the Project Lifecycle Management Module and delivering high-level project reporting to Council.

What you'll bring

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading strategic initiatives within a large organisation. They will demonstrate extensive experience in strategic asset management, project management, and the planning and delivery of infrastructure-related projects. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, including the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation in order to achieve outcomes.

To excel in this role, you will bring qualifications in a relevant field and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in customer service. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are also required, along with the ability to prepare and present complex reports and recommendations to diverse audiences, including executive leadership.

Working closely with key stakeholders, you will ensure Council's policies and strategies are informed by robust data and aligned with long-term financial and operational goals.

Salary: Total Remuneration Package circa $184,000- $210,000 p.a. (negotiable dependent on skills and experience).

A vehicle arrangement will be made with the successful candidate for this role. Council will provide you with a leaseback vehicle for an annual fee calculated as 20% of the gross purchase price. This is a fully maintained vehicle for both business and full private use with no additional expenses in normal use.

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
