Snow Peak is opening the first Campfield in the USA. Located 2.5 hours from Portland, OR and 3 hours from Seattle, WA in the Pacific coastal town of Long Beach, WA, the Snow Peak Campfield is a modern reimagining of the campground experience.  


Open year-round to the public, the Campfield will offer a mix of accommodation options ranging from simple tent sites to fully outfitted glamping sites to climate-controlled, Snow Peak designed cabins. A suite of Snow Peak camping products are available for rent or purchase on-site to provide Snow Peakers the best experience possible, whether it’s their first time camping or their hundredth.  


Community amenities include a modern camp store and café, elevated bathroom and shower facilities, and a soaking and sauna facility inspired by Japanese onsens. A physical incarnation of the Snow Peak outdoor lifestyle brand and the proof of concept for future expansion, the Campfield is one of the most immersive and experiential opportunities for Snow Peakers, and one of the most important strategic initiatives at Snow Peak USA. The Lead Groundskeeper / Facilities Support Coordinator (LGFSC) is an enthusiastic site steward who leads the landscaping, groundskeeping and general site maintenance of the Campfield. They will also support maintenance of buildings, and equipment across the Campfield property. Reporting to the Campfield Facilities Manager, this LGFSC will be responsible for coordinating, overseeing and executing daily groundskeeping and site maintenance duties. The LGFSC will work independently as well as collaborate with the facilities team, Campfield management, seasonal staff, and external contractors/vendors.


This position is a full-time hourly, non-exempt position on-site at the Campfield and reports to the Campfield Facilities Manager. 


POSITION DETAILS



  • Pay rate: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Wednesday-Sunday:  7:30am-4pm or Thursday-Monday:  7:30am-4pm

WHAT YOU WILL DO


Facilities Operations  



  • Complete regular landscape maintenance across grounds, including mowing, watering, cleaning, and ongoing wetland restoration activities

  • Conduct daily facilities maintenance work on buildings, grounds, and equipment 

  • Support operations and upkeep of all facilities systems.

  • Ensure facilities maintenance work conforms to specifications and safety standards

  • Coordinate and interact with third-party maintenance and repair contractors

  • Support wildlife management protocol on property

  • Maintain Campfield vehicle and equipment fleet, including regular maintenance

  • Understand and anticipate guest expectations to respond to needs/potential problems

  • Maintain operational policies and procedures

  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and security rules and regulations

  • Support strategic objectives that fulfill the mission and the goals of the department

  • Report the efficiency of facility and grounds processes to Facilities Manager


 


Housekeeping/Janitorial Operations 



  • Support daily housekeeping and janitorial operations of Campfield 

  • Conduct regular cleaning of grounds and all buildings 

  • Ensure proper and efficient cleaning of tents/rooms/lodging units between guest stays

  • Monitor and maintain inventory of groundskeeping supplies and equipment

  • Maintain trash and recycling programs across building and property grounds


 


Performs other related duties and projects as assigned


 


Required Qualifications



  • 3+ years working in facilities and landscape maintenance, preferably campground/resort  

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience  

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check

  • Offers of employment are conditioned on receipt of a background check report that is acceptable to Snow Peak Camp Operations, LLC. Snow Peak Camp Operations LLC conducts an individualized assessment of results, and a criminal conviction does not automatically bar an applicant from employment 

  • Proficient understanding of landscaping and groundskeeping best practices and facilities & equipment maintenance

  • General knowledge of campground operations or willingness to learn

  • General knowledge of wetland restoration practices or willingness to learn

  • General knowledge of pool/spa facilities operations or willingness to learn 

  • Willingness to learn new computer programs and software

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Ability to learn quickly; creatively solve new problems  

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills  

  • Superior time management skills with a proven ability to efficiently manage time-sensitive priorities  


Physical Requirements



  • Work is performed in, on and around buildings, facilities and grounds, inside and outside in all weather conditions. Occasionally works in office operating computers and other office equipment

  • Needs adequate vision and hearing, manual dexterity, communication and motor skills to perform the duties of the position, including emergency response situations

  • Walks up and down inclines and stairs, over rough, uneven, and slippery terrain or paved surfaces

  • Works on ladders, scaffolds, and rooftops

  • Reaches above shoulder level and occasionally works on hands and knees

  • Bends, stoops, crouches, kneels, crawls, climbs, twists, pushes and pulls in regular performance of duties

  • Drives a variety of motorized vehicles

  • Maneuvers, manipulates, and operates hand and powered tools and heavy equipment

  • May sit or stand for long periods of time

  • May lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds or more with assistance

  • May work in congested work areas, confined spaces and remote locations

  • May be exposed to environmental and chemical hazards, allergens, and odors standard to area of assignment, such as high noise, chemicals, and fumes requiring safety controls

  • Cleans up and disposes of human-generated waste, animal waste and carcasses

  • Frequently interacts with the public

  • Uses appropriate safety and personal protective equipment and follows established safety policies, practices and procedures


Preferred Qualifications



  • CPR certification preferred  

  • Pool and spa service certification preferred 

  • Experience with Japanese language and culture

  • Experience in the outdoor, retail, or apparel industries
