Position: KC&E Experience Center Manager


Location: Connecticut (Litchfield County)


Schedule: This role requires availability during peak business hours, which includes a combination of weekdays, weekends and holidays. Hours are estimated to be:

  • Pre-Season (Mar - Mid-May): 25 - 30 hours per week

  • Peak Season (Mid-May - Mid-Sep): Seasonal Full-Time

  • End-Season (Mid-Sep - Nov): 25 - 30 hours per week

  • Off-Season (Dec - Feb): TBD

  • Potential to transition to full-time at end of Peak Season dependent on business needs


Overview

KC&E Adventures is looking for a customer-focused, service-driven Experience Center Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Connecticut Experience Center, the Southern New England storefront for all KC&E experiences. This individual will be responsible for delivering outstanding in-person customer service, managing daily operations, and ensuring seamless guest experiences through self-guided tours, sales consultations, community events, and hospitality program logistics.


The Experience Center also serves as the hub for KC&E’s hospitality program, where we maintain, service, and distribute fleet bikes for our hospitality partners. This role will oversee fleet management, logistics coordination, and service scheduling to ensure a high level of support for partner properties. Additionally, the Experience Center Manager will work closely with the logistics team to oversee the successful execution of the logistics calendar, ensuring efficient bike deliveries, pickups, and maintenance.


This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in hospitality, retail, and outdoor recreation, who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and enjoys balancing guest experiences with operational responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities


Guest Experience & Sales

  • Serve as the primary customer-facing representative during peak business hours.

  • Assist walk-in customers with inquiries, helping them match with the right KC&E experience, bike, or gear based on their needs.

  • Facilitate self-guided e-bike experiences, including customer check-ins, route recommendations, and safety briefings.

  • Lead guided rides and group experiences as needed.

  • Support event hosting and community engagement initiatives at the Experience Center.


Hospitality Program & Logistics Oversight

  • Oversee the KC&E Hospitality Fleet, ensuring that all bikes are properly stored, maintained, and distributed to partner locations.

  • Work closely with the logistics team to oversee and ensure successful execution of the logistics calendar, including bike deliveries, pickups, and service scheduling.

  • Ensure fleet bikes are regularly serviced and prepped for deployment to hospitality locations.

  • Coordinate with hospitality partners to provide exceptional service and maintain strong relationships.


Operations & Facility Management

  • Manage the daily operations of the Connecticut Experience Center, ensuring smooth and professional execution of all activities.

  • Maintain the Experience Center bike fleet, ensuring bikes are properly stored, charged, and ready for rental or events.

  • Oversee inventory and logistics, including receiving bike deliveries, building and maintaining bicycles, and tracking inventory through a scheduling calendar.

  • Assist in keeping the Experience Center organized, clean, and inviting for guests.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Retail or hospitality experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., outdoor recreation, tourism, retail sales, bike shop, hotel concierge).

  • Strong customer service skills, with a focus on creating positive and engaging guest experiences.

  • Ability to sell experiences and gear, helping guests make informed decisions.

  • Basic bicycle knowledge, with a willingness to learn more about e-bikes and bike fleet management.

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Bicycle mechanic experience or comfort with basic bike maintenance.

  • Experience leading group rides or day tours.

  • Familiarity with self-guided tour logistics and outdoor adventure planning.
