POSITION SUMMARY
As an Internal Communications Specialist at Alterra Mountain Company, you will assist our team in creating and implementing successful internal communications plans as well as manage our internal communications platform (Intranet). The ideal candidate will have proven experience with managing internal communications copy/content and platforms and be excellent in developing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
General Responsibilities
Internal Communications Platform (Intranet)

Visual design: Create the visual design of the platform within system parameters and continuously update the design to maintain internal brand standards.

Site navigation: Provide expertise in site navigation and continuously enhance user journey to boost utilization of platform.

Training: Develop and implement a training program for users.

Analytics: Analyze platform data and report regularly on user experience, content, and adoption.

Policies: Develop and implement policies and standards for intranet content.

Governance: Create and uphold an intranet governance plan.

User guidelines: Work with Internal Communications Team to devise and implement content and user guidelines.
- Experience with intranet platform support and management required
- Administration experience with SharePoint preferred, Haystack preferred.
Other Responsibilities
- Write and develop internal communications, including newsletters, e-blasts, presentations, announcements, and intranet postings with consistency and successful execution.
- Monitor systems and review/analyze reporting to continuously improve the quality, consistency, efficiency and relevance of communication channels.
- Identify new methods for communicating with employees at all levels; leveraging internal communication channels and social media with innovation and creativity, and execute tactics for delivering key messages and information to internal audiences.
- Measure communication effectiveness, gather feedback, report findings, develop and manage action plans.
- Participate in and support events logistics, including annual events calendar, monthly team briefings, town halls, all-staff briefings, etc.
- Provide other ad hoc support and general duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years experience in the corporate or internal communications field.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, internet authoring tools, social media tools and content management software.
- Exceptional problem solving and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional groups.
- Ability to take programs from concept to execution.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and effortlessly moves between strategic and tactical activities.
- Professional/lived experience working in a culturally competent manner with a diverse range of people.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Thrives working in a creative, fast paced environment.
- Ability to work well with short deadlines, sets priorities, and collaborates well within a team environment.
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of the Company’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Denver area base salary range: $63,000 - $95,000 per year
