Who are we looking for?   


We are looking for an Experienced Hydrogeologist/Environmental Engineer/Environmental Scientist to join the Hydrogeology Group in one of four Ontario offices (Ottawa, Mississauga Waterloo, or Toronto). This position is a great opportunity to be part of an established Hydrogeology practice in Canada with a bright future ahead. The Hydrogeology Group works on a variety of projects including infrastructure tunneling, linear infrastructure, and land development projects. Office, field, and hydrogeological support is also provided internally for a variety of environmental projects. Estimated approximately 20% of time outside the office in the field, although this may vary seasonally and by project.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:


Office Work and Report Writing:



  • Data compilation, interpretation, and analysis of hydrogeological field and analytical data for technical and environmental reports 

  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of data tables, stratigraphic logs, hydrographs, and figures, as required

  • Lead the preparation of draft technical memos, reports, and deliverables including but not limited to environmental investigation summary reports, design project specifications, annual monitoring reports, operations support, design reports, detailed design, and permitting (EASR-PTTW, Sewer Use)

  • Lead and support proposal writing 

  • Interpret engineering drawings/plans 


Field Work



  • Coordinate soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and levels, surface water sampling

  • Arrange for construction oversight tasks including drilling, monitoring well installation, excavation, or other construction projects 

  • May also be involved with well development, single well response testing, or other field activities

  • Adhere to GHD and client’s safety requirements

  • Liaise with subcontractors, client representatives, and/or agencies, as required 


Project Coordination 



  • Support the broader project team by developing work plans, change orders, sampling plans, and health and safety plans associated with environmental investigations

  • Assist in the coordination of technical resources and personnel including drafting, database, chemistry, and staff throughout the project duration

  • Assist with contract administration for construction, as required

  • Assist with tracking budgets and preparing invoices, as required


What you will bring to the team



  • Bachelor’s Degree in earth/environmental sciences or engineering

  • Master’s degree in earth/environmental sciences or hydrogeology would be considered an asset

  • 5-15 years of professional experience with eligibility for P.Geo. or P.Eng. License

  • Strong understanding and demonstrated field experience in soil classification, overburden drilling methods, and soil, sediment, and groundwater sampling protocols

  • Proven project and client management skills

  • Excellent English writing and verbal communication are required to effectively express technical information

  • Exceptional attention to detail is integral

  • Valid driver's license
