What you will be doing:

The HR Generalist will have a solid background in the areas of Recruiting, Employee Relations, and Training. This position will provide mentorship, training and counseling to managers on employee issues.

  • Uses independent judgment to provide effective service, support, consultation and resolution of ER inquiries and issues through the informed application of company policies, programs, procedures, and federal/state laws
  • Provide consistent mentorship and direction to managers in the handling of various employee matters, including disciplinary recommendations, associated documentation, and preparation for employee conversations
  • Identifies training needs through use of formal needs assessments and field research to support USH frontline training programs. Conducts online and/or instructor led training for employees and managers on various topics. May act as a facilitator for training sessions which include multiple presenters
  • Completes special projects as required in support of company or Corporate activities. Audits training to ensure quality programs and conformance with department, federal and state requirements. Keeps abreast of practices, current/pending legislation, and trends within the area of specialization
  • Provide first level response, consultation and successful resolution of Tier 1 employee relations questions and inquiries, while maintaining an efficient and continuous workflow process and delivering consistent, outstanding customer service to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Recruit, track, report and follow up on all open positions, Identify, interview and present candidates to management. Responsible for compliance with human resources related company policies as well as all applicable federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
  • Assist with salary negotiations when requested, generating offer letters and coordinating administrative follow through (such as background checks and drug testing) as requested
  • Using independent judgment and discretion, provides total staffing service to clients, e.g. recruitment strategy, sourcing, and candidate assessment and selection which comply with all legal requirements
  • Conduct independent investigations in regards to employee relations issues. Give recommendation to Managers and Sr. HR Manager on discipline of employees to include separation of employment

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Excellent oral presentation skills, time management skills, and multi-tasking skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in related profession/field
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Expert office administration skills, including data entry, typing, faxing, copying, etc.
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft office: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Windows
  • Proven experience in specialized areas: HR Functions, Recruiting, EEO knowledge, Training and Development, and VISA Immigration
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree is preferred but will exchange for 8+ years of experience
  • PHR
