About the role

The Human Resources Generalist (known internally as Talent Partnet) is responsible for providing HR support and guidance to the staff located in South Africa, by partnering with the business on a variety of areas, including but not limited to, recruitment, benefits, and HR admin.

You will be someone who has a real interest in developing and progressing in the HR space, working alongside local stakeholders within a regional and global team..

You do not require travel industry experience to land this role, but you will ideally have some recent experience in an HR role at a similar level, or one with clearly demonstrably transferable skills.

This role benefits from a hybrid approach and is based out of the Cape Town office three days per week.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Partner with hiring managers through all stages of the recruitment process when needed, conduct recruitment planning meetings to inform on best practices and processes; prepare offers of employment, conduct references checks.

  • Oversee and manage all benefits administration.

  • Ensure employee electronic files are up-to-date in the HRIS system (Workday), provide support with respect to Talent systems, prepare payroll reports for various regions; assist in employee offboarding when required.

  • Manage the HR Inbox, answer queries and respond to support tickets in a timely manner.

  • Prepare employee related letters including reference requests, pay changes as required and process any HR related invoices.

  • Support the General Manager, Africa and True Believers with all engagement activities at the Cape Base office.

  • Support the General Manager as required on any related facilities & office management tasks.

  • Support the Global Talent team with performance management, employee relations and terminations when required.

  • Ensure local compliance with all HR related policies and procedures (i.e. health and safety, employment standards and legislation, compensation and benefits, recruitment and hiring practices, etc)

  • Work collaboratively across the Global Talent Team & Talent Agency (includes Learning and Engagement), to amplify and support associated initiatives in your region.

  • Participate in regional and global initiatives as set by the Global Talent Manager.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Ideally, 1-2 years of HR experience in a fast paced environment would be preference

  • Experience in prioritizing tasks based on requirements of multiple stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong computer literacy skills (experience using mac is a bonus)

  • Detail oriented with superior time-management skills; and solid problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers while conveying professionalism and diplomacy.

  • Results driven with an ability to take initiative to create (or improve) processes and services where needed.

  • Strong knowledge of local legislation and law.

  • Ability to travel to the Cape Town office on a regular basis, as well as additional locations as may be required.

  • Understanding of and an interest in the Travel Industry
