PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication, and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate.
2. Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems (e.g., heat pumps, HVAC, plumbing, boilers, elevators) and other equipment throughout the hotel. Be able to record all of your troubleshooting and repairs or replacement with-in our PM (Preventive Maintenance) system.
3. Perform preventative maintenance assignments and assist with all I.T. (information technology) on a scheduled basis.
4. Respond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints, and or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
5. Communicate with Casino Engineering and all Hotel department heads to become aware of maintenance needs and ensure timely response to internal requests.
6. Be able to manage a Profit and Loss statement for the Repair and Maintenance department. Explain all variances of your monthly/quarterly/yearly budget. Be able to create action plans from the statistics you receive from your profit and loss monthly statements.
7. Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; completing maintenance request forms and recording logs.
8. Maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, and gardening).
9. Maintain all Commerce & Casino standards and follow-up on inspection deficiencies.
10. Coordinate compliance of service contracts.
11. Implements and maintains Commerce Casino & Hotel’s preventative maintenance program.
12. Implement and maintain Commerce Casino & Hotel’s room care programs.
13. Implement and maintain Commerce Casino & Hotel’s engineering department minimum standards.
14. Assist Hotel’s General Manager with annual and five-year Capital Plan development.
15. Actively participate in Commerce Casino & Hotel’s Safety Plan and energy improvements.
16. Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear directions to staff.
17. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
18. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience Required: Minimum 10 years’ experience in hotel operations or other commensurate experience.
Education: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

⦁ Extensive skill in MEP (mechanical/electrical/plumbing).
⦁ Ability to access, understand and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
⦁ Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
⦁ Ability to stand and move throughout the hotel property and continuously perform essential job functions.
