JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Hoback Sports Marketing/Events Coordinator
Reports to: Hoback Sports GM
General Purpose
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for implementing web, athlete and event strategies that support Hoback Sports core values to bring exposure aiding in retail and rental sales growth.
Essential Functions
- Work with Hoback Sports Management team and Retail Director to manage the development of annual, seasonal, and monthly marketing and event plans.
- Work with JHMR Marketing Dept. to assist in planning, budgeting, coordination, implementation and delivery of successful events, sales, advertising, and promotions.
- Update Hoback Sports website info for featured products, current events, sales, seasons, imagery, hours, and content.
- Work with Digital Marketing Coordinator to oversee Blog, Instagram, Facebook, and other social media for consistent and appropriate updates.
- Partner with buyers to focus on current product updates and partnerships relating to marketing opportunities.
- Manage Hoback Sports sponsored athletes and ambassador ski & cycling teams. Coordinate special orders, discounts, race kit uniforms, and special needs.
- Work across JHMR Retail locations to ensure cross involvement when appropriate.
- Assist in retail sales and daily floor operations as scheduled or needed.
- Work with vendors to acquire promotional products for marketing purposes.
- Work directly with local non-profits/organizations to maximize community involvement on behalf of Hoback Sports and JHMR with primary focus on those who support cycling/ski culture.
- Conduct in-store/external marketing events, seminars, clinics, and group rides.
- Coordinate Hoback Sports employee events.
- Maintain warehouse organization of promotional event equipment and supplies.

Job Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
- Strong analytical skills- ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data.
- Advanced working knowledge of web development and Excel.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of retail inventory management.
- Self-Starter
Education or Formal Training:
College Degree
Experience:
1-3 Years Web and Event Planning experience required, preferably in the bike/ski/snowboard/outdoor industry.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Winter – inside typical sales shop, walking over ice and snow to get to events.
- Summer – inside typical sales shop, standing outside in sun and shade for events.
- May need to be outside in extreme temperatures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing and pulling, lifting (up to 75 lbs), grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motion.
- Visual acuity.
