L.L.Bean is looking for a Fulfillment/Logistics Programmer to join our IS team.

This position is being offered as a Hybrid position, working some days from home and other days at our office in Freeport, Maine.

Position Purpose:

The Programmer plays a key role in supporting L.L.Bean’s Fulfillment and Logistics Applications. Working with the Fulfillment/Logistics IT team this role will be responsible for supporting the development, testing, implementation and continued support of moderate to complex application solutions using industry standard business process and systems. The individual will work in collaboration with the Information Systems department and the Fulfillment/Logistics Business Units to understand functional business needs to support a value-add solution. This role will also be required to support and troubleshoot existing applications including afterhours support on a rotating basis.

The ideal candidate is organized, can balance multiple priorities and is self-motivated to meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.

Responsibilities:

  • First level triage and support for user issues – maintaining ServiceNow tickets and JIRA Board
  • Act as a SME for supporting applications and interfaces, Manhattan WMS, e2Open Logistics, Varsity/AS400 application, integrations to our Material Handling Systems and other applicable L.L.Bean applications.
  • Document new and existing sustain support processes by creating SOPs
  • Participate in project meetings and assist with turning business and functional requirements specs into a solid technical solution.
  • Communicate and coordinate project tasks with project and technical lead(s) when required.
  • Participate in rotational On-Call Schedule – provide daytime and after hours on-call support.

Education Level: 2 to 4 Year Degree in Business, MIS, or related field of study or applicable work experience

Years of Experience: 0-3 years’ experience in application support and/or IT studies

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work independently and prioritize work effectively, as well as to function as an effective team member in a local and virtual team development environment.
  • Team Skills: Flexibility, collaboration, negotiation, communication, and group dynamics, and solid English language skills and comprehension
  • Technical skills: Problem solving skills, Development skills
  • Experience with any of the following technologies is a plus: JIRA, Java, JSP, JavaScript, SQL, Linux, Perl, HTML, C, XML, SOAP, Ajax, Java Server Faces, Web Services, JUNIT, MQ Series, caching solutions, Websphere Application Server, Restful API, JSON, Splunk
  • Databases: DB2, Oracle, SQL Server
  • Microsoft Suite tools
  • Testing: Unit, Integration, System, Performance
