Job Description

Vista Outdoor’s sporting product segment, The Kinetic Group, is seeking an Export Compliance Administrator (ECA) to assist in ensuring overall export compliance for all ammunition brands.  The ECA is responsible for auditing international shipment files; accurate recordkeeping procedures for export documentation; license data reporting and authorization record management. A key function of the Export Compliance Administrator also includes assistance with maintaining and communicating international trade compliance procedures to help employees understand and follow evolving laws and regulations governing ammunition commodities.

This position reports to the EICO Specialist II and allows you the flexibility to work from your home office, * within reasonable commuting distance of our Lewiston, ID office.

As the Export Compliance Administrator, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Support ITO with maintaining and communicating international trade compliance procedures, to help employees understand and follow laws and regulations governing the importation and exportation of commodities.   
  • Assist with export compliance audits and review of internal controls (procedures, work instructions, forms, checklists, and tools) to ensure currency and compliance.
  • Assist Export Compliance Officers with internal investigations related to BIS and/or DDTC inquires.
  • Screen all foreign and domestic entities in NAVEX Risk Rate as needed.
  • SNAP-R / DECCS Export license management noting provisos, conditions, riders and entering authorization details into license logs.
  • Assist with maintaining procedures related to license exemptions and exceptions requirements applicable to the export of ammunition commodities and corresponding Technology/Technical Data.
  • Ensure recordkeeping follows export regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Audit International Shipment files for required documentation, and accuracy of AES customs filings by freight forwarders and internal staff. Coordinate updates/corrections with International Customer Service.
  • Obtain (and file) proof of delivery from freight companies for Canadian ammo shipments.
  • Compliance tracker and metrics reporting for export shipments.
  • Export/Import Compliance training as assigned.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned or required to ensure an effective international trade compliance program.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent relevant experience in exports/contract management within regulatory requirements
  • Highly organized; ability to prioritize multiple tasks in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.

You might have:

  • Familiarity with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (is preferred).
