Location: Haines, AK Applicant must be willing to live/relocate to Haines, AK (April September).

 

Compensation: Full-time salaried position $4500 per month April- September  

 

Overview: 

The Expedition Coordinator contributes to our mission to deliver high quality experiences to our guests, prioritizing safety and cultivating a fun & professional workplace for employees. The Expedition Coordinator will help administer multi-day expedition programs, working directly with the management team at our Haines office. This position will also coordinate with and support our Gustavus and Skagway programs and may be called upon to support other departments as needed. 

 

Management of Expedition Program: 

  • Primarily during Alaska operating season (April September) 
  • Coordinate client, staff, and vehicle transfers, schedule pickups/drop offs. 
  • Arrange trip and client documents for guides. 
  • Coordinate daily operations with other departments. 
  • Enter all expedition guide hours for payroll through Quickbooks Time 
  • Create purchase orders for expedition expenses through Beanworks. 
  • Assist with Emergency Response 

 

Sales/Client Care: 

  • Support sales initiatives This position is very customer facing, answering phone calls and sending/reviewing emails from potential clients is a regular responsibility. 
  • Manage marketing posts including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and emails. 
  • Support client care efforts such as pre-trip emails, post-trip follow ups and paperwork collection. 

 

Day Program Support: 

  • Support radio dispatch functions as needed. 
  • Support day trip/cruise operations as needed this may include guiding or driving the occasional day trip (within the area of candidate's expertise). 
  • Support other projects and tasks on an as-needed basis. 
  • Assist with Emergency Response. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Must have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license. 
  • Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and CPR certification. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products Outlook, Excel, Word, and Sharepoint. 

 

Preferred: 

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in outdoor industry. 
  • Familiarity with Alaska programming.
