Description

We are seeking an Executive Assistant to support the Shire of Derby West Kimberley Community Planning Directorate. This role will assist in the coordination of administrative functions for the department while mentoring team members. A key focus will be on enhancing efficiency, compliance, and consistency in administration, as well as maximizing the team's capability through systems and software.


Given the dynamic nature of this position, the ideal candidate must possess exceptional time management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team while handling multiple tasks. This role requires a proactive individual who can identify and act on areas for improvement, streamline processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the department. The candidate will interact professionally, being approachable and inclusive, with a wide range of individuals, including members of the Community Planning team, department staff, Management, community members, and other key stakeholders.


To be successful in this role, the candidate must handle highly sensitive and confidential financial, legal, personnel, and organisational information with the utmost professionalism and discretion.


 


Please note that this position is a six month contract with potential for extension, based in Derby with a base salary range from $76,742 - $82,352 plus generous allowances (up to $15,104), superannuation (11.5% & up-to 7% Council matching), and 5 weeks annual leave. This is a great opportunity to develop your career while making a meaningful contribution to the local community. Skills And Experiences


  1. Demonstrated high level experience in time management; attention to detail and a strong ability to multi task.

  2. Experience as an Executive Assistant preferred.

  3. High level honesty and integrity with experience in handling with confidential information.

  4. Demonstrated high level proficiency and experience in the use of a range of software applications (including SharePoint and MS Office programs).

  5. Demonstrated ability to develop and improve administrative processes.

  6. Flexibility to work outside ordinary business hours as required to assist with meetings, including those of Council, Council appointed committees and other meetings and functions.
