We are currently recruiting for a Director of Sales at the Hampton Inn in South Kingstown, RI.


The Director of Sales is responsible for the overall sales efforts of the hotel, this includes the positioning of the hotel to ensure RevPar growth, soliciting new business, and maintaining and growing all current business and community relationships. This position will also be responsible for sales forecasting, yield strategies, creation and implementation of sales plans for optimal business mix targets. As a key management role, this position will maintain constant communication with the General Manager and Management Company to include weekly revenue meetings, action plans, and sales activity reports. Candidates must have a dynamic leadership style, possessing excellent communication and decision-making skills, and acute business acumen.


Job Requirements:


 Prepare and Implement Annual Sales & Marketing Plan
 Develop rates and sales strategies utilizing competitive data, demand analysis, and mix
management to ensure proper placement within the market
 Compile data to work directly with the Director of Revenue for budgeting and rate
placement proactively managing yield processes to maximize ADR, RevPar, and market
share
 Analyze the strength and weaknesses of all hotels in the competitive set and develop
marketing strategies to effectively sell against them
 Organize, maintain and track sales data using Delphi sales tracking software. Prepare
weekly, monthly, and annual sales reports as required
 Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related
information for the development of new marketing strategies
 Establish and keep in contact with hotel key accounts, maintaining lists of top accounts
and top target accounts
 Monitor sales activities /performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established
revenue goals
 Contribute to building a positive team spirit, exhibit objectivity, and openness to the
views of others
 Treat people with respect and promote a positive happy work environment
 Be able to maintain a positive demeanor when dealing with frequent change, delays or
unexpected events, quickly changing approach or method to best fit a situation
 Develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of local
community groups and companies, and attend in and out-of-town events to generate
convention and group business


Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
 Knowledge of Hilton Sales and Revenue Systems preferred
 Advance knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing hospitality
profession
 A minimum of five years sales experience in the hotel industry
