What you will be doing:
The Director, SEC Financial Reporting is a crucial member of our Corporate Finance and Accounting team. You will report directly to the Vice President of External Reporting. You will lead all SEC filings, support the Corporate Finance team, and work alongside the Director of Technical Accounting on all technical accounting matters and transactions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including investor relations, financial planning & analysis, corporate accounting, treasury, and tax, on key initiatives, including projects, to continually improve accounting processes and reporting. Ideally, you exude leadership, collaboration, and critical thinking qualities while always having a team-first philosophy.
Handle all external financial reporting including SEC filings (10K's, 10Q's, Proxy's, 8K's, earnings releases, investor presentations etc.), special regulatory filings as required, and press releases, etc.
Perform high-quality detail review of footnote and MD&A supporting work-papers.
Draft MD&A and new SEC reporting or US GAAP disclosures from scratch.
Research new SEC or US GAAP accounting and reporting disclosure requirements and balance the cost to comply with practical considerations to present a recommendation to management on how the Company should adopt such requirements.
Coordinate and update SEC filing drafts throughout the various stages of preparation to address feedback provided by other members of the external disclosure team including (Financial Controller, CFO, General Counsel, Outside SEC counsel, External Auditors, Audit Committee, Disclosure Committee, Investor Relations, etc.).
Monitor, track, and evaluate GAAP and SEC developments impacts on the Company. Work closely with external auditors.
Support the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards including supervising the processes and external reporting disclosures, as applicable.
Lead annual and quarterly goodwill & intangible asset impairment review and testing including coordination with our external auditors.
Lead accounting and reporting for share-based compensation including use of Fidelityβs Plan Sponsor Workstation.
Support business segments and corporate functions on all technical accounting matters including accounting analysis resulting from entering into new agreements, transactions, etc.
Perform technical accounting research and prepare internal memorandums to document the Company's conclusions on accounting matters.
Responsible for submission of all SEC filings through the use of Workiva filing platform.
Ability to learn and stay up to date on functionality and the best methods in utilizing the Workiva Financial Reporting System.
Review XBRL tagging, currently outsourced to Workiva, to ensure appropriate tags are selected based on US GAAP taxonomy.
Participate in and/or lead special projects such as mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, significant transactions or initiatives, etc.
Review various financial analysis and information prepared by other accounting and operating functions.
Maintain and continuously improve financial reporting policies, processes, and controls.
Actively participate in knowledge sharing with the external financial reporting team to continuously provide on-the-job training, development, and mentoring as well as recruit, develop, and retain talent.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA certification
10+ years of experience in a similar role including previous Big 4 public accounting experience or SEC reporting experience for a large global company
Extensive knowledge of SEC reporting and US GAAP
Strong technical accounting and research skills
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Preferred Qualifications:
Consumer product/retail sector experience a plus but not required
Experience or exposure to Workiva
Experience in a complex global organization
Fidelity's Plan Sponsor Workstation (or other stock-based compensation record keeping, reporting, and administration)
Experience with XBRL tagging
Acquisition and/or divestiture accounting and reporting

In Colorado, and New York City, the standard base pay range for this role is $140,504 - $210,757 annually. This base pay range is specific to Colorado, and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
