Under general supervision, this position provides a safe and fun environment for children in the Fieldhouse Day Camp program through the supervision of designated groups and may serve as a designated bus driver if necessary and if trained to do so.

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age for the Day Camp Counselor Sr. position. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age for the Driver position. Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by a minimum of four hundred sixty (460) hours of satisfactory and verifiable experience working directly with school aged children.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain prior to the first day of working with children, the following certifications is required: CPR, AED & First AID, Injury Prevention, Heads Up Concussion, Mandatory Reporter, Playground Safety, Universal Precautions, and Medication Administration.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Colorado for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; safe driving record and two (2) years of driving history.

Tools & Equipment
Requires frequent use of school-aged games and classroom equipment used in a childcare facility as well as a fourteen-(14) passenger bus to transport children.
Physical Demands
Requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, handling, feeling or operating objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Requires occasional reaching with hands and arms, climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting, up to fifty (50) pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus, allowing a broad field of vision.
Environment
Work is frequently performed in a climate-controlled environment, but employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level is usually high and may range from moderate to extreme. The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, chemicals, or radiant energy.
Full pay range is: $19.10/hr. - $24.20/hr.
Starting pay for this position is $20.27/hr.
