As the coordinator you will manage the daily operations of various outdoor recreation activities, equipment storage, inventory, facility management, and special and collaborative programs and clinics. This position’s responsibilities include overseeing the budget as related to trips including student staff payroll and managing student staff. In this role you will create, implement, and supervise organized and informal outdoor programs based on current outdoor recreation trends, principles, guidelines, and risk management principles. You will also establish and enforce policies for participation in trip programs including, but not limited to, whitewater and sea kayaking, top rope and lead climbing, biking, backpacking, hiking, stand up paddleboarding, and Geocaching.
You will work in accordance with the director to oversee program related assessment procedures associated with departmental learning outcomes and key performance indicators, providing annual assessment data collection and reports to track program effectiveness. Additionally, as the coordinator you will manage the equipment rental program, storage facility, and inventory, and will develop and coordinate monthly training programs for all student staff.
