About the Position
The Kids Stuff Camp Counselor is responsible for supervising and leading a group of children through scheduled activities throughout the course of the day. They will also provide a safe, fun, structured day for these children. This role reports to the Kids Stuff Manager.
Responsibilities
- In charge of a group of children; leading them through their activities, providing a safe and fun environment for the group.
- Administrative duties such as: checking campers in and out for the day, phone calls to registered campers who have not shown up for the day, scheduling activities throughout the day.
- Facilitating warm-up games.
- Assist with tennis lessons.
- Assist in lesson planning various games and activities around themes.
- Follow state mandated guidelines for ensuring camp safety.
- Participate and entertain in themed games and activities with campers.
- Participating with the group in a variety of other sports/activities.
- Leading educational components.
- Attend and participate in regular Service Game training sessions as directed by supervisor.
- Maintain a neat and professional personal appearance, by wearing the MVP Sports Clubs uniform (see uniform matrix) and name badge.
- Providing an assigned group of children with a structured, safe, fun, and fitness-oriented day.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED Equivalent or relevant work experience.
- First Aid/CPR Training. In the event a team member is hired without CPR or First certifications, they will be required to attend MVP Sports Clubs in-house training to obtain this.
- Background or interest in working with children, sports/athletics, and working outdoors.
- Strong background in sports or physical education.
- Enjoy working with children.
- Physical Requirements: Bend, stoop, crouch, climb, stand, sit and turn/pivot; Lift/lower, push, pull and carry up to 40 lbs; perform office tasks using simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation and reach associated with assigned tasks such as paperwork, typing, and/or word processing, filing, calculating and use of telephone; See, hear, and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
