Responsibilities
The Child Care Services Branch of the YMCA seeks energetic and reliable part-time childcare workers to provide childcare support Monday through Friday for the 2025 Summer Camp season. Camp Counselors help provide diverse participants with educational and age-appropriate activities to promote a safe, fun, nurturing learning environment and memorable experiences with the YMCA.
- Connect: Have a warm, engaging, and friendly demeanor that is able to connect quickly with program participants and parents.
- Nurture: Actively engage with and provide quality care for program participants in order to deliver a quality camp experience.
- Lead: Good Communication , accounting, organizational skills
Requirements
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
- Minimum of 16 years of age.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Experience in the supervision of multiple children.
- Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.
- Ability to relate to, welcome and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
Salary: $14.00-$14.50 hourly
Hours Available: Monday-Friday, 6:40am-12:30pm and 12:15pm-6:00pm (May 26, 2025- August 1, 2025)
