Grandfather Golf & Country Club prides itself on the memorable experiences we create daily. Summer camps for the children and grandchildren of our members are an essential piece of what we offer in season to engage and entertain children for eight weeks throughout the summer season. We are searching for friendly, caring, enthusiastic team members to serve as role models for our youth and ensure that their safety is a top priority while they are having fun and camp.


Job Summary: Camp Counselors are responsible for providing leadership, ensuring the safety of all campers, and direct supervision of children for all planned activities. Helps the Youth Activities Manager plan, organize, and oversee all junior activities for Members’ and guests’ children, such as arts and crafts, games, and off-propertyrips. Aids in organizing and preparing the learning environment, lessons, and necessary supplies for program activities. Ensure that campers enjoy a youth-focused atmosphere consistent and sensitive to the needs of the participants with learning, emotional, or behavioral differences while being a positive role model for all. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication is of utmost importance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of kids in camp by providing appropriate supervision at all times.
  • Assist children with camp activities.
  • Directly supervise campers while swimming or participating in sports.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation related to attendance, off-site trips, accidents, and incidents.
  • Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces the diversity of all participants.
  • Actively participate in training sessions.
  • Adhere to Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting requirements and adhere to our Youth Protection Program guidelines daily.

Requirements

CPR, First Aid, and AED Certifications are required.

Child Abuse Prevention training is required upon hire.

Previous experience working with children in a camp setting is preferred.

Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with children and members.




Salary Description

$14 -$16 per hour
