Essential Responsibilities Summary:
Directly supervise activity counselors, and:
Conduct observations and provide feedback to activity staff to support staff development.
Organize regular individual and team check-ins with activity counselors and provide support as needed.
Support the Program Head with the creation and management of the daily camp schedule including cabin, staff, and individual camper schedules.
Communicate schedules clearly and consistently with the camp team, support teams, and curriculum partners.
Plan and support staff with implementing Choice Period to offer diverse and exciting opportunities for curriculum enhancement.
Assist curriculum partners with tasks related to the planning and preparation of the activity curriculum (e.g. ordering supplies, preparing activity resources, planning special events).
Maintain essential duties as a member of the Coordinator team.
Meet with other Coordinator Team members to discuss and address camp concerns.
Participate in Leader of the Day (LoD) rotation to ensure camp schedule runs smoothly.
Instill joy and enthusiasm into the daily life of camp.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must pass Criminal Background Check.
This position is eligible for a stipend for driving responsibilities if the following qualifications are met:
Valid driver’s license and driving record approved by Chewonki’s Insurance Carrier, must attend Driver’s Training.
At least 21 years old (to drive participants).
Attend required onboarding and training sessions.
Experience in program management, preferred.
Experience supervising or leading young adults, preferred.
Organized, strategic, and detail oriented.
Digital literacy (Google Suite, etc.).
Basic First Aid/CPR Certification required (Chewonki will provide training); Wilderness First Aid strongly preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up to 30 lb at a time.
Must be able to work in an active, outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions.
Able to participate in games, sports, and physical activities including water-based games and activities.
Able to maintain attention and a high level of energy or excitement for extended periods of time.
Willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Starting Salary: $5,100
Incentives: travel stipend, Room & Board, refer-a-friend $200 bonus.
