We are looking for an individual to join our Travel Desk team as an Air Travel Specialist, a position designed to offer exceptional service while booking airfare for our guests. This team is responsible for assisting our guests and staff with airline ticketing and logistics in getting to the start of their tour and home from the end of their adventure. The Nat Hab Travel Desk team strives to assist all guests and staff in a prompt, courteous and professional manner and leverage their expertise to create a pleasant and meaningful travel experience for our guests.


 


This is a full-time position. Working hours are expected to be 8:00am – 5:00pm Mountain Time Monday through Friday, and Saturdays 8:00am – 3:00pm on a rotating basis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES


The successful applicant must be able to perform the following duties capably. Additional duties may be added or assigned at any time. 



  • Design flight itineraries for all inbound air requests from guests, staff and guides offering them the best options considering route and cost.

  • Learn airline change and cancellation policies, as well as our travel insurance policy, advising guests of these details when flight reservations are confirmed.

  • Assist our ticketed guests with the purchase of advance seating when applicable.

  • Manage airline reservations made by the Travel Desk. This includes helping with schedule changes, flight cancellations, seat changes, and issues while traveling.

  • Send final flight confirmations to guests who utilize our Travel Desk.

  • Ticket international and domestic flights via Amadeus GDS platform.

  • Understand airline commission contracts.

  • Familiarity with processing voluntary and involuntary exchanges and refunds.

  • Help guests with emergency situations such as canceled flights, delayed arrivals, missed connections, etc. during work hours and occasionally after work hours.

  • Reserve additional hotel nights and transfers.

  • Perform weekly & monthly reporting of Travel Desk sales and commissions.




SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS         



  • Proficient use of Amadeus or an alternative GDS ticketing system for international and domestic ticketing, exchanges, and refunds (3+ years’ experience strongly desired).

  • Background in travel or hospitality industry with experience in travel logistics preferred.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and reassure guests who may be feeling stressed.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient/strong in the Windows operating system and applications, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Database experience is a plus.

  • Strong skills in time management, multitasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.

  • Able to work individually and as part of a team.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Able to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple tasks.

  • BA/BS degree is preferred.




COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS


Compensation commensurate with experience. Base salary of $60,000- 68,000, plus annual bonus. The Louisville, Colorado office near Boulder is surrounded by paved paths and natural trails with panoramic views of the foothills and Rocky Mountains. The office campus features an on-site fitness facility and café serving daily breakfast and lunch, including a full-service espresso bar with locally roasted coffee.


 


Eligibility for medical insurance, participation in 401(k) with company match, parental leave and sabbatical are available after a predetermined period.

WORKING HOURS


Our company hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM MT. We also open on Saturdays from 8 AM to 3 PM for select members of our guest-facing teams. Additional hours may be required to meet your goals as needed.


 


TRAVEL


For local candidates (within a one-hour drive of our Louisville, CO headquarters), this position requires attendance in the office at least two days per week.




For remote candidates, you will need to travel to Colorado at least twice a year for in-person meetings, company events, and job-specific tasks.




Our company also hosts two mandatory all-staff weeks each year: one in April (Springfest) and another in early December (Winterfest). Attendance from all employees is required.
