CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include day-to-day accounting, finance & bookkeeping, payroll and benefits processing, cash management, monthly billing, and monthly ledger reconciliations and report preparation. Experience in general ledger accounting, payroll, and QuickBooks required; familiarity with health care services/insurance billing and payroll processing a plus. Position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

 

TASKS:

  • Provide day-to-day bookkeeping: Billing, A/R, A/P, banking, and payroll (using QuickBooks).
  • Manage payroll process. Process biweekly payroll, manage employee payroll records, oversee payroll tax compliance and benefits withholding activity.
  • Prepare monthly customer invoices.
  • Manage cash and A/R balances.
  • Prepare monthly accounting reconciliations: bank and credit card statements, and general ledger accounts, including accrual entries.
  • Prepare basic monthly financial statements (in support of the CFO).
  • Assist in the annual budget preparation (in support of the CFO).
  • Prepare nonprofit donation accounting entries (in coordination with Chief Development Officer).
  • Support staff and management’s need in day-to-day billing, payables, payroll and transactions.
  • Oversee aspects of regulatory and tax compliance related to payroll and finance-related areas.
  • Lead participant in the annual audit process.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bookkeeping, accounting, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reporting skills.
  • Payroll and benefits processing and compliance.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft office (Word and Excel) and other office software applications.
  • Attention to detail, able to prioritize tasks, work independently, and strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA privacy requirement for patient information and maintains and protects confidential information.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal savvy and influence skills with leaders, staff, vendors, and customers.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to analyze financial data create financial reporting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

 

IN ADDITION:

  • BS in accounting or related field.
  • Experience with accounting reconciliations and payroll processing.
  • Competency with QuickBooks.
  • Strong bookkeeping and high-level accounting or Controller experience.
