The Position
We are currently seeking Wildlife Biologists to join our team based out of our
Edmonton and Whitecourt office. This is a full-time
permanent position that is focused on inventory, assessments and ecological
restorations. Project work includes forest inventory, ecological site
assessments, wildlife inventories, and roadway/stream crossing assessments and
restorations. Project work is remote, team based, safety driven and is
completed for the energy and forest sectors throughout the province.

Position Accountabilities
This position is
accountable for safe and efficient project work;
Manage project
deliverables and working relationships with Woodlandsβ peers, management and
clients;
Initiate, develop and
execute continuous improvement initiatives and best practices;
Assist the Operation
Manager with the scheduling and management of projects.
Position Requirements and
Qualifications
Experience in wildlife sweeps, wetland assessments, watercourse crossing
assessments, fish identification, fishery habitat classification, plant
identification, soil classification, ecological restorations, field data
collection and reporting;
Experience in remote
field work and working around big yellow equipment will be considered an asset;
University Degree or
technical diploma is required in Environmental, Earth Science, Forestry,
Biology or Engineering;
Professional registration
or eligibility in one of Albertaβs Professional Regulatory Organizations;
Minimum experience of 2
years;
Strong analytical and
reporting skills;
Ability to maintain a
valid class 5 driverβs license with a clean abstract;
Ability to demonstrate a
safety and customer service focus.
