Accounting Controller
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer

Responsibilities
- Close the accounting books monthly and annually in a materially complete and accurate manner and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Compare actual results vs company forecast to identify & resolve any discrepancies in the following P & L line items:
- Revenue
- Discounts
- Cost of goods sold
- Other acquisition costs
- General & administrative expenses
- Capital expenditures (Fleet & IT)
- Safeguard company assets by employing proper accounting, compliance & control procedures over:
- cash � control & minimize cash overseas; pay vendors in accordance with contracts in a timely manner
- cash denominated in foreign currencies � enter into forward FX contracts to take delivery of foreign currencies based on estimated needs and periodically re-assess contracts vs needs to direct actions to focus the company on selling certain trips to realize related currency gains & to maintain the minimum amount of cash in foreign currencies
- prepaid costs and deposits - minimize through contracts with vendors
- receivables � collect the full value of monies owed to the company in a timely manner
- VAT � comply with regulations in the most advantageous way for the company
- Partner across various teams to ensure payment of vendors in accordance with contracts. Teams include global accounts payable teams, regional finance managers, and other regional finance teams.
- Manage, mentor & develop the Boston & global accounting team.
Requirements
- Bachelor�s Degree from accredited college or university, advanced degree (MBA) or CPA preferred
- 20 years of accounting experience (companies with international operations a plus)
- Organizationally analytical with exceptional problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to lead an accounting/finance team and to be the financial partner to company executive
