Your seat at the table: Travel Manager

You will love this seat if you get, want, and have the capacity to:

• Vendor Relationships
  • Work with our travel management system vendor to ensure we are maximizing our travel spend and incentive programs.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors of direct travel, such as event management brokers, car rentals, hotels, and airlines.
  • Negotiate preferred rates and travel incentives with vendors.
• Travel Management
  • Set travel policy, deliver training on systems, ensure adherence to policy and procedures.
  • Provide travel booking assistance to key executives as needed.
  • Help employees with international travel and travel laws.
  • Assist employees with all travel-related documentation, including payments, itineraries, visas, medical, and legal forms.
  • Assist with any travel-related issues that may arise.
• Reporting
  • Prepare travel budget reports.
  • Analyze and prepare reports on travel spend.
  • Record travel activities
• Continuous Improvement
  • Stay continuously up to date on travel regulations, trends, policies and methods to maximize spend and increase ROI.
  • Update the travel policy as needed

We need this seat to have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the travel industry.
• A bachelor's degree in tourism, travel or hospitality preferred.
• Certification in travel or hospitality may be advantageous.
• Knowledge of travel management processes.
• The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors of direct travel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• A basic understanding of Geography.
• Strong computer skills.
