Job Description

The Tour Guide is responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction by learning and accurately delivering approved tour scripts with enthusiasm and professionalism. Tasks also include booking reservations and confidently engaging and assisting individual guests and large group needs. 

 


Job Responsibilities


  • Guides patrons on tours in the production areas

  • Greets guests in a courteous and professional manner

  • Understands and speaks to history, knowledge, and facts about the location

  • Respond to customers questions and requests

  • Responsible for the safety of tour guests

  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager

Qualifications


  • Previous guest services experience required

  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Demonstrate organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail

  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time to conduct tours

  • Experience with Living History and Cultural History presentations a plus

  • Cleans and maintains tour equipment after each tour

  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs

  • Audition is required for those hired

  • Must learn scripted information for the tour

  • Script will be provided and will be followed for the tour 

  • Training is M-F for 4 hours each day 9am - 1pm

  • Once trained, guides work 4-6 hrs a day at least for 3 days per week on a rotating schedule 

  • An occasional Saturday will be required for special events
