EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS



  • Strong skiing and/ or snowboarding abilities, capable of traveling safely and efficiently through all snow conditions.

  • EMT-B – Emergency Medical Technician – Basic, Certified by Nevada EMS or National Registry with ability to get NV EMT.

  • Current CPR for professional rescuer card

  • ATF clearance as an Employee Possessor

  • Excellent English communication skills – both verbal and written.

  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

  • A compassionate demeanor in which to aid and assist injured or distressed guests.

  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritize tasks.


CONTACTS



  • INTERNAL:  Managers and assistant managers of all Mt. Rose departments.  Some staff level interaction if employee accidents occur.

  • EXTERNAL:  Resort customers, NDF, NLTFPD, REMSA, Washoe County Sheriff & EMS Offices


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Identify, reduce and/ or eliminate hazards on ski runs with regard to signing, markings and flagging.

  • Provide first aid and transportation for injured guests and employees.

  • Complete incident report forms on injured guests and employees and perform incident investigations as needed.

  • Provide courtesy transportation to non-injured guests.

  • Provide search and rescue, avalanche rescue and lift evacuation services as needed.

  • Provide avalanche control and snow safety evaluations as required.

  • Promote and enforce safe “on mountain” behavior as it applies to the Skier Responsibility Code.

  • Clocking in and out to ensure accurate work hours


MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Coordinate and cooperate with other departments as necessary in the completion of the above essential duties.

  • Provide information and answer questions about the resort to resort guests.

  • Any other duties that may contribute to the cleanliness, orderliness and overall efficiency of the entire operation and all of the tasks contained therein.
