The Senior Director of Sales leads the company’s effort to convert our product and marketing offerings into channel sales.  This includes Original Equipment partners, online marketplaces, retailers, and distributors worldwide.  This position is a key part of the Leadership Team that is responsible for setting the strategy, planning and execution for the whole company.

What You Will Do:
  • Be an active member of the Leadership Team, including developing annual planning, strategic direction, execution of the annual plans, and coordination of the Sales department with all other departments.
  • Implement the annual company plan and goals within the Sales Department.
  • Lead the Sales Department to meet the financial revenue projections of the company.  This includes the strategy and planning for the department.
  • Coach, manage, and oversee internal sales staff and, through them, our partner independent sales reps and distributors.
  • Work with the sales team and customers to assemble annual or timely forecasts to guide the planning and resource allocation for the company.
  • Identify and recruit new sales partners including retailers, distributors, OE brands and governmental entities.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to create omnichannel strategy including DTC, online marketplaces, wholesale and Original Equipment opportunities.  
  • Ensure the lifetime value of customers and channels is factored into overall sales strategy.
  • Maintain a high rate of customer satisfaction and retention throughout all channels.
  • Oversee attendance and scheduling of customer visits, regional shows, and trade shows for internal sales staff.
  • Prepare and present frequent and consistent customer feedback and development reports to the Leadership team.
  • Conduct presentations on the state of our sales channels including current performance and planned future activities.
  • Work with leaders of Operations, Marketing, Product, and Finance departments to coordinate all necessary cross-department activities.  
  • Form teams across departments to take care of our customers and critical processes.
Specific Position Requirements:
  • Must work from our Longmont, CO office, in alignment with our current hybrid schedule: four days in the office and one day remote. 
  • Travel to Oakland, CA or other locations as necessary. Monthly travel anticipated, up to 50% of time.
  • Travel to visit customers in the US and Europe, including attending trade shows and selling shows.
  • Give frequent public presentations of our product line and our company direction.
  • Work directly with the President on special projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or communications, or related field required or equivalent experience in lieu of degree required.
  • Minimum five (5) years sales or business development experience with product and category required; prior experience with major accounts or independent sales representative management is beneficial; Outdoor Industry experience beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of Excel, Word, Gmail/Outlook, CRM software (Zendesk) required.  ERP knowledge preferred.
  • Current driver’s license with good driving record is required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker, able to plot a path forward for our distribution network.
  • Highly developed skills in organization and discipline to maintain level of execution for the department.
  • Ability to hold subordinates accountable for excellent level of effort and achievement.
  • Must be motivated and able to make decisions independently.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Offer to be determined based upon the individual's experience and qualifications. Budgeted at a base salary of $150,000 - $170,000 per year plus an annual bonus of up to 20% of your base salary (dependent on company and personal performance).
  • Three different health insurance plan options with up to 90% employer contribution for employee premiums and up to 50% employer contribution for dependent premiums.
