Technicians are Next Adventure’s jacks of all trades and aspiring masters of the Tune Shop. Technicians are required to maintain the rental shop process, be knowledgeable about all rental equipment we offer, have outstanding customer service, be able to work efficiently, have great attention to detail and be able to do basic tune services.


***This position is designated as a seasonal role, starting on October 15, 2024, and ending on March 1, 2025, with flexibility for the start date or extension based on performance and individual circumstances.


Please note that due to the high demand during the holiday season, no time off requests will be approved from December 1st, 2024 - January 15th, 2025. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we work to meet the needs of our customers during this critical time.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service, every shift, every opportunity. Next Adventure has built a reputation for having friendly, honest and knowledgeable staff that is always willing to help guide customers through one of the best rental experiences.
  • All Technicians must develop their own personal and effective approach to recommending appropriate tune services and rental items.
  • Gain the required product knowledge to answer any question that makes its way into the rental and tune shop.
  • Technicians are expected to have effective written and verbal communication skills and use established communication systems to their fullest.
  • Be a positive part of the team. The rental and tune shop is a fast paced environment that can only function with a cohesive team.
  • Maintain the organization and processes of the rental and tune departments.
  • Be able to correctly rent any equipment that is provided by Next Adventures robust fleet.
  • Have a basic knowledge of how to operate
  • Technicians are required to perform basic tune shop skills: correctly filling out forms, waxes, edges, ski binding Test/Adjust, snowboard/splitboard binding mounts, and rental fleet repairs.
  • Techs will be expected to complete daily shop duties and be accountable for keeping the store clean and organized.
  • Have a basic knowledge of how to operate Retail Pro: Inventory searches, cash register duties, creating customer profiles, and tag printing.
  • Have basic ski/snowboard boot fitting skills: must be able to measure/read mondo point, read last, shell fit, size boots properly, and know when to ask for help.
  • Be able to operate equipment properly and follow safety protocols.



Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a tune/rental shop is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Previous customer service experience in the outdoor industry (preferred).
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Previous experience working with a team.
  • Ability to talk about general ski, snowboard, mountaineering, and other pertinent rental inventory nomenclature.
  • Ability to assess ski and snowboard damage and provide recommendations to repair.
  • Light to moderate lifting, with reasonable accommodation.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Willing to use rental/tune shop machinery.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficient with, or a quick study on, Microsoft, Google and internal software applications.
