Overview

The Ride Operator (RO) reports directly to the Technical Manager of FlyOver Las Vegas, an immersive flight ride new to the Las Vegas Strip. As part of the technical team, the Ride Operator is not only responsible for operating the ultimate flying ride, but they are expected to ensure the timing of the different segments of the attraction, staying on track and on schedule, all while keeping an eye out for the safety of the guests and team members. Ride Operators must possess excellent communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills and have a positive outlook and desire to make FlyOver Las Vegas a one of a kind, wonderful experience for guests.

What is the compensation for this role?

The wage for this role is $20 per hour and a full breakdown of benefits and perks will be discussed during the interview process. 

What will you do in this job?

  • Operating the FlyOver Las Vegas ride
  • Monitoring and ensuring guest and team member safety at all times
  • Communicating efficiently using proper radio protocol
  • Performing site opening and closing duties, including basic ride checks
  • Recovering ride malfunctions
  • Coordinating ride evacuation in accordance with procedures
  • Looking out for and informing Supervisors and Technical team of safety concerns

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • Demonstrated basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and computer systems
  • Exceptional interpersonal and guest service skills
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Comfortable with sitting and/ or standing for long periods of time
  • 1+ year/s experience with amusement rides an asset
  • Prior fall arrest training and/ or experience working at height
  • Strong “can-do,” attitude with willingness to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to make decisions, prioritize, solve problems and exercise good judgment in a fast-paced environment
  • Resourceful, with a curiosity to solve problems and create new solutions.
  • Sense of urgency to complete job duties accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
